Carrot Cabbage Slaw w/Orange Sesame Dressing
The veggies in this week’s CSA box remind us how much we love a good Asian-inspired chop salad. There are about one thousand permutations of this available on the internet, but we think this recipe forms a nice, simple base.
A few notes on substitutions, though. If you don’t have Coconut Aminos around, you can easily sub Braggs or soy sauce. Coconut Aminos are tasty—they're slightly sweet and mild compared to Braggs or Soy Sauce—but they’re expensive and not a prerequisite for this recipe.
It's also worth noting that this recipe doesn’t call specifically for broccoli. If you don’t already have a plan for the Alaska grown broccoli in your box this week, though, we think it would make an excellent addition to this salad, thinly sliced, stem and all!
Finally, this: Sesame seeds are a must, here, but pumpkin seeds are optional. Just about any toasted nut you have around—almonds, peanuts, or even toasted Kabocha seeds—will do!
